It is said that only ~20 remain in the game, and that Entity has 5 of them. One Guardian-Vexor was destroyed in December 2012, one was sold in 2013 for 85 billion ISK, and another was destroyed in 2014. Because of their uncertain numbers and even more uncertain whereabouts, the only really "confirmed" Guardian-Vexors belong to collectors such as Entity.
In 2013, CCP attempted to distribute three Guardian-Vexors and two Gold Magnates through the third party lottery service SOMER Blink. Following community backlash, including posts from Tyrrax Thorrk and well-known and trusted community member Chribba,Tarnishing the Legacy: Does EVE Online's History Matter to CCP Games? - GameSkinny CCP removed those awards, and in their place would either provide a free trip to the next Fanfest, or "a unique variant of the new cruiser with enhanced stats and a different skin".EVE Online Forums: A review of player giveaways with CCP and third party sites Said unique variant would become the Stratios Emergency Responder.

Since the Ascension update in 2016 removed the ability for carriers to deploy regular drones, the Guardian-Vexor is the only ship in the game that can deploy more than 5 drones at once.
